Gak
We have been trapped inside so much lately because of the weather, that we have been breaking out all sorts of indoor activities for Hayden to do. A few days ago we made Gak. It turned out a bit thicker than I would have liked, but Hayden and Peter both still had a blast playing with it. It is so fun to let ooze through your fingers and onto a puddle on the table, and blow giant bubbles in. Here is the recipe if you want to try it yourselves:
Homemade Gak
8 oz Elmers glue
3/4 cup water
a few drops of food coloring
1 Tbsp Borax
1/4 cup warm water
Mix the glue, water and food coloring in a bowl. Dissolve the Borax in the warm water, then add the Borax solution a little at a time to the glue solution until it has all globbed together. Continue to mix with your hands until it is smooth.
I read another recipe that used only a half a tsp of Borax to 1/3 cup warm water, so next time I may try that to see if it turns out a little gooey-er.
Homemade Gak - always a fun way to pass the time!

Jenna, having fun in the snow? Cleveland looks good this winter compared to Virginia. I feel like a heel, I never thanked you and Peter for the gift card to Cheesecake Factory. It was wonderful! We love eating there and it is even sweeter on someone elses dime. It was very generous of you! Hope you are all doing well.
